Wonderful Weekend!!

This weekend saw Chesham Bowls Club host the 2018 County Finals and Bletchley were well represented in both the men's and ladies sections.

On Saturday morning Vicky Room took on Courtney Harvey from Gerrards Cross, this was described as the game of the weekend with the girls trading ends and shots with high quality bowls being played. Vicky finally took the title winning 21-19

Saturday afternoon it was an all Bletchley affair in the blue ribbon event the ladies singles championship, with Vicky playing her second game of the day against Lesley Throup. This time Lesley came out on top winning 21-14 congratulations to both for making the final and well done to Lesley for becoming the ladies singles champion for 2018. (Picture to follow)

Sunday morning was the turn of the men in the Triples championship with Rhys Lee Malcolm Drage and Dean Brookes taking on Dave Turner Andy Savin and Robert Blake from Marlow BC. In the wind and the rain our lads adapted to the conditions better than the Marlow triple racing away to a 16-0 lead after 9 ends they then dropped a 2 before picking up a 2 and a 3 to make the score 21-2 at 12 ends. This was enough for Marlow and they conceded. Congratulations Guys.

Sunday afternoon was the ladies pair of Marjory Rose and Ruth Drage against Marge Riley and Sandy Smith from Wexham, again the conditions were not great but it suited the Bletchley girls who ran away to a 26-13 win and secure another county title for the club. Well done girls.

Still left to play is Malcolm Drage and Dean Brookes against current national family pairs champions Tom and John McGuinness this is scheduled for Monday 13th August at Chesham Bowls Club.

A big thank you goes to Chesham Bowls Club for hosting the day and all the county officials for running the competitions throughout the year

We would like to congratulate all out finalists and wish them all the best at Leamington next month.
